Sunday Lunch on the Midlands Meander

"A most memorable and divine lunch at Hartford House" / MoccaJava-TripAdvisor (p)

Whether staying at Hartford for a week or joining us for a Sunday lunch, we look forward to welcoming you. This is what a recent day guest had to say...
"Fabulous setting to match to great food and service!"
My husband and I where most fortunate to break from the normal Sunday rut and spend the day at Summerhill Stud and have a most memorable and divine lunch at Hartford House. Compliments to the chef and the rest of the team.
Although only day visitors, we were warmly welcomed by name and settled at our table. Duncan explained the menu and wine list and highly recommended the pork belly and roast duck. He went the extra mile to offer me a great glass of wine that was not on the already extensive wine list and suggested a great beer for my hubby. Our table was served with little handmade canapés for us to nibble on while we made our choices. I had the mussels to start and my partner the smoked trout which was beautifully presented and sadly my partner would not swap dishes with me as the trout was delicious. The pork belly lived up to all recommendations and the grilled kob was most enjoyable. The portions are smallish (perfect size for lunch), very tasty and beautifully presented. As we were already full and had to face the drive home, we opted out of having any deserts, which I regretted as the plates passing our table to other visitors looked lovely.
We look forward to breaking away and staying over for a weekend to enjoy the dinner, which other visitors told us is to die for! Hartford House, hope to see you soon again.
