We were recommended by a friend to stay at Hartford House especially for the food. I must admit the 5 course dinner menu was fantastic along with the wine paring which was also refilled if you enjoyed a particular course. Bravo to Duncan who had to explain all the courses and wines for each dinner, I found that an art in itself!
We had our 3 year old son with us (who couldn't dine in the formal dining room), but the chefs and management did a fantastic job in talking to us about all his meals (served in room). You could tell that even toddler food was lovingly prepared. We were thankful it was not the normal fast food served for children in many establishments.
One of the best things about Hartford House is their staff. You can see that they are trying their best to deal with each individual guest and as guests, we are not all perfect either. So, please be patient when you can't find staff around... it's a big house! They are trying to please each guest.
