Hats Off to Hartford House
A tour of the stud farm is a must for those not in the know like us, but I'm sure even better for those that are.
The food is of course the big draw of Hartford House but, unlike some other places we have stayed in the area, this is most definitely quality of quantity with exceptionally high gastronomy delivered throughout. In fact both dinners were outstanding and as good as we have had anywhere in South Africa.
The Head Chef presents the menu every evening with a really informative and enjoyable commentary; on the first night we were very lucky to enjoy one of the first truffles grown/found in South Africa - what a treat.
This is a destination place in the Drakensberg, and one that we will definitely visit again.
