24 Hours of Sheer Pleasure
To all the wonderful people at HARTFORD HOUSE...
"And then… we stepped out into fairyland with candles in the wind, curtains billowing, bubbles flowing; in a private affair with the most interesting folk, sharing a meal proudly prepared with love by Tijn and his helpers. It felt like we were on a movie set…. Thank you!
The next morning, I woke far too early as I had to prepare for a presentation. Why can I never just relax? I was going to miss breakfast but, as our escape route away from the Trolls at the Toll Plaza was being discussed, I snuck into the dining area and tasted a piece of frangipani tart. OH MY HEART! Tijn, I will be back for more!
And then, the finale of the much awaited lunch! What a setting, what a lunch - wasn’t that beef just fabulous? Oh yes, and… we finally got to hear Mick’s stories!
Thank you Cheryl for the humble manner in which you applauded our wonderful Annette Kessler for all she has done! This InterHotel Challenge is her brain child and we all know she couldn’t do it without the lovely Chania, but she deserves praise for getting us all out of the kitchen, around the tables and celebrating new growth not only in the industry but in these youngsters whom have been given such an incredible opportunity.
We at RIO LARGO have been able to get incredible exposure as small producers around the country through SHOWCOOK and formed partnerships along the way. It is such an honour. It also makes my heart sing when I see hoteliers that are competitive when it comes to filling those beds, sitting around the table together and talking to each other! Such opportunities always allow us to shed the misconceptions and embrace the future in collaboration. It is the only way to move forward- together!
Your generosity as an establishment has not gone unnoticed. Too many to mention by name but thank you Duncan, Tijn, Mick and Cheryl and the rest of your team. It certainly was 24 hours of sheer pleasure! We will be back."
