When we arrived we were greeted by Kevin and Sibonelo at the reception area with a friendly smile and a genuine heartfelt welcome. Check-in is personalized uncomplicated and quick. Kevin escorted us to our room and made sure we settled in nicely. Any need is taken care of quickly and efficiently.
The rooms are beautiful and relaxing a genuine care has been taken making sure every detail is faultless.
Dinner - all I can say is we need this restaurant as a Top 10 restaurant. I have eaten at La Colombe a few times and this is miles better.
When arriving for Dinner, Duncan the GM and Tjin the Head Chef are waiting to greet you with a welcome drink of your choice before dinner. All the ingredients used are treated with respect, Menu is only decided in the afternoon depending what is fresh and available. Tjin makes sure he interacts with all tables and adds a personalized reading of the menu with a brief story about all the ingredients used and why. He has reason for doing everything maybe a childhood memory or something to set a new trend.
Duncan is a wealth of knowledge you can see from the way he interacts with each and every guest that this is not a job to him. This is his passion this is what makes him happy. You are treated like you are a guest in his house. He has a true gift and the industry is lucky to have a rare gem like him. The whole night you see him very active interacting with each and every table sharing stories about the wine why he chose it and what it means to him.
