Update on Hartford House Hotel’s Renovations: Phase 1

Henning Pretorius, the new owner of Summerhill Equestrian and Hartford House Hotel, decided that if he was to take over this little hotel on the Hlatikulu Road just outside Mooi River, it was going to be restored and re-established as a pre-eminent destination in South Africa’s Tourism and Hospitality industry.

The Hartford Chapel

The Moor Sons, together with Colonel Richards and a few other families, founded on this property the beginnings of NCD dairies, the Eskort Bacon Factory and Corobrik. The dairy (where the Moors milked South Devon Cattle) was started in what is now the Hartford House Chapel.
